It is important to encourage good oral health routines from a young age to give them the best chance to have a smile that lasts a lifetime.

We engage young people in their oral health by educating them about the ‘why’ as well as the ‘how’. We even provide specific dental care for children. We encourage positive visits to allow children to get used to the setting and start forming a relationship of trust with your Dentist. Phobias are more likely to develop when your first visit coincides with a painful dental problem.

We recommend all children start visiting the dentist early and support the British Society of Paediatric Dentistry’s campaign ‘Dental Check by One’. This helps us to deliver guidance not only on tooth brushing but also tips on diet to reduce the risks of tooth decay.

  I had to visit the practice for a tooth extraction recently. Being of a nervous disposition I wasn't looking forward to it at all. ALL the staff treated me with the utmost care and compassion and nothing was a trouble to them, even sitting with me and holding my hand after the procedure.   We went to sedgefield dental practice after our local dentist removed us from their books (after lockdown), I must say it was a brilliant find. Our dentist is Dave, he is lovely, friendly, gives attention to detail, listens to his client's. ALL the staff we have had the pleasure to meet are friendly, polite and professional.   I recently registered with Sedgefield Dental Practice as I was experiencing some dental difficulties. The entire process from contacting them and speaking with receptionist staff to receiving treatment from Dental Operators (Dave and Laura) has been extremely professional. The customer engagement, interaction and support offered has been of an exemplary standard. The practice is very welcoming and all staff are personable and friendly.
